2025-2026 Honors Criteria Requirements

for scheduling of courses in 2026-27 school year

Honors ELA

  • Scaled score of 626 or above as shown by the iReady Reading Diagnostic
  • 95% or higher average grade in the ELA course

Honors Science

  • 95% or higher average
  • Scaled score of 626 or above as shown by the iReady Reading Diagnostic

Honors Social Studies

  • 95% or higher average
  • Scaled score of 626 or above as shown by the iReady Reading Diagnostic

Recommendations:

  • Honors Algebra 1= 20 or more total points
  • Honors Math 7 = 10-19 total points 
  • Math 7 = 9 or fewer total points

Process for Appealing Course Placement

Parents/guardians of students entering 7th Grade should:

  • Until the end of the school year, contact their child’s teacher(s) or Skyview administration with questions about academic scores and placement criteria

  • After June 12, contact Kathy Sicilia at ksicilia@methacton.org or (610) 489-5000 ext. 30213 to register for appeals testing

Prior to the testing date, parents/guardians will be contacted with information about completing appeals testing.

Within one week of the appeals test, parents/guardians will be contacted with the results of the assessment(s).
