Reading Olympics

Reading Olympics is a team-based reading competition designed to encourage a love of reading, teamwork, and comprehension skills. Following the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit (MCIU) of Pennsylvania format, students read from a selected list of books and collaborate to answer questions about them in a quiz-style event. Teams earn points for correct answers, focusing on participation and teamwork rather than elimination.

At Skyview, Reading Olympics meetings typically begin in December, with morning meetings held in the Skyview Library. During these sessions, students discuss books, practice answering questions, and prepare for the countywide competition. The event culminates in a fun and engaging competition where teams showcase their reading knowledge and celebrate their hard work.
