Today, 5th grade teams participated in the annual Planetary Walk as part of their "Patterns of the Sky" unit.

To better understand Earth's place in the universe, students have been learning about the size of the Sun and the vast distance to the stars through a series of science classes in the planetarium. Today, they applied those concepts by walking through a scale model of the solar system, traveling all the way from Skyview to Arcola.

Having the Mallon Planetarium right here on the Skyview Arcola campus—and the guidance of Planetarium Director Adam Chantry—greatly enriches our students' learning with hands-on, immersive science experiences.
